Chimneys wear away like every other part of a roof, and because they stand up in the weather they usually go first. We have been working on them for decades. Repoint, cap, rebuild or take it down, and dress the lead properly around it.

Most chimney problems are mortar and lead. The pointing washes out, the flaunching cracks, the lead flashing lifts or was never dressed right in the first place, and water gets in around the stack. All of it is fixable, and fixing it early is far cheaper than the water damage it causes inside.
If a stack is past saving or you no longer use it, we can rebuild it, cap it or take it down below the roofline and tile over. We will tell you honestly which makes sense.
Leadwork is a craft of its own. Flashings, soakers, valleys and back gutters all need cutting and dressing properly, in the right code of lead, or they will leak again. We do it right the first time.
Straight answers
My chimney is not used. Can I just have it removed?
Yes. We take it down below the roofline and tile over, which removes the leak risk for good. It usually needs building regulations sign-off, which we can talk you through.
Water is coming in beside the chimney breast.
Nine times out of ten that is the lead flashing. We will go up, find it and quote to re-dress it.
